No. You keep your number and your phone. We set up call forwarding, or plug into the phone system you already have. There is nothing to buy and nothing to install.

How does GetRingLine connect to my phone?

Accepted Answer

For most businesses we add a call-forwarding rule through the carrier you already use. You can turn that rule off at any time. If you already have a business VoIP or PBX system, we check compatibility during onboarding before anything changes.

Does GetRingLine take over my phone number?

Accepted Answer

No. Your number stays yours. We never port it or transfer it to GetRingLine. Forwarding is a setting on your existing line.

Will you port my number if I ask?

No. We do not take ownership of, or port, an existing number — even if you ask. The line stays with your carrier.

Do I have to change my phone carrier?

Accepted Answer

No. You stay with the carrier you already have. You are responsible for confirming that carrier supports the forwarding method we pick. We walk through that during onboarding.

Can I turn forwarding off myself?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Forwarding is a setting on your existing line. You can disable it at any time. If you cancel with us, we turn it off within 24 hours and the number works the way it did before.

What if I already have a VoIP or PBX system?

If that system supports a deeper integration, we confirm compatibility during onboarding before any changes are made. If it does not, we use ordinary call forwarding instead.

Does this work on a landline, a cell, or a VoIP number?

Accepted Answer

Yes, as long as the line can forward calls. Most business landlines, mobile numbers, and VoIP numbers can. We confirm the method with you before anything goes live.

I have more than one business line. Can you cover them?

Tell us on the quote form or at manish@getringline.com. Coverage for extra lines depends on the setup. We confirm what is possible during onboarding before anything changes.

How long does setup take?

About a week. After we have your business hours, how you talk about the work, and what you need from a caller, we configure the receptionist and test it with you before it goes live. Terms of Service aim for 5–7 business days once we have everything we need.

What if setup takes longer than a week?

The usual cause is missing information on our side of the checklist — hours, how you price the work, or forwarding details. Delays from missing client information can extend the timeline. We do not flip it live until we have tested it with you.

What do you need from me to get started?

A bit about the business: name, hours, common questions, how you price the work, and the number or forwarding details. We also need a contact name, email, and phone so we can send summaries and reach you. If you use Google Business Profile and want us to look that up, you can share access during onboarding.

What does the setup fee actually cover?

The one-time setup fee pays for onboarding: collecting how you talk about the work, configuring the receptionist, connecting forwarding or your phone system, and testing with you before go-live. It is not refundable once that work has started.

What happens to calls if something goes wrong on your end?

Calls fall back to your normal line, so the phone still rings the way it did before. We monitor the service and tell you if anything breaks. We do not currently publish a formal uptime percentage or SLA.

Will callers know it is not a person?

Some will, some won't. We never pretend to be you. It answers politely, gets to the point, and never puts anyone on hold.

What does the start of a call sound like?

It picks up on the first ring, greets the caller in your business's voice, and asks what they need. If you want a short recorded-call notice at the start — required in some US states and Canadian provinces — we can play that. You ask us to turn it on.

Can I choose the greeting and the questions it asks?

Yes. That is the point of onboarding. We configure hours, how you talk about the work, common questions, and what you need captured from a caller. Keep that information reasonably up to date after you go live so the answers stay accurate.

Can business-hours and after-hours calls be handled differently?

Yes. Tell us your hours and what should happen when you are closed — for example take the details and promise a callback versus booking the next opening on Pro. We set that during onboarding.

Does it answer after hours and on holidays?

Yes. It answers day or night, including when you are on a job, at lunch, or closed. Give us holiday hours the same way you give us regular hours and we will follow them.

No. GetRingLine answers on the first ring and stays with the caller until it has the details or books the job.

Can it quote my prices?

If you give us how you price the work during onboarding, it can share those figures the way you want them said. It will not invent a price you did not provide.

Calendar booking is included on the Pro plan. Starter and Standard capture the lead and text you the details so you can book when you are free.

The published plans are built to answer, take the details or book the job, then text you. Live transfer to your cell is not listed on Starter, Standard, or Pro. If you need calls sent through when you are available, tell us on the quote form and we will say what is possible.

A text within about a minute: who called, what they need, their number, and what was promised. On Standard you also get automated follow-up and lead scoring so you know who to call back first. Pro adds calendar booking.

Calls are recorded and/or transcribed so we can send you summaries and lead details. Recordings and transcripts are kept for 12 months unless you ask us to delete or export sooner. Ask us how you want to review them — there is no self-serve portal listed on this site.

It stays polite, gets the details, and does not put anyone on hold. It will not argue and it will not pretend to be you. If a caller needs a person, you get the text and call them back.

Those still reach a forwarded line. The receptionist will take a message or end a junk call the same way a person would. It is not a robocall-blocking product. If spam is a problem on your number, say so during onboarding.

Capacity depends on the forwarding and voice setup we configure for you. We confirm that during onboarding so you know what happens to a second call — we do not publish a blanket concurrent-call number on this site.

Yes, if you tell us the names and when each person should be offered. The text still comes to the contact number we have on file unless we agree another routing during onboarding.

For the calls that forward to GetRingLine, yes — a person gets an answer instead of a mailbox. If forwarding is off, or a call falls back, your normal voicemail still works.

Neither. GetRingLine is an AI phone receptionist built on Retell AI, a dedicated voice platform — not a script-reading bot and not a room of agents reading a page.

Month-to-month. There is no long-term lock-in contract and no notice period. You cancel by email. Subscriptions renew each billing period until you cancel.

The published prices are a one-time setup fee plus a flat monthly subscription. This site does not list per-minute or per-call overage. If your volume is unusual, tell us on the quote form so the plan we send you is honest.

The one-time setup fee is not refundable once onboarding work has started. Monthly fees are not refunded for the current billing period once that period has begun. After you cancel, we do not charge again. If we fail to deliver the core of your plan because of an error on our side, we may issue a refund or credit for that period.

It is included on Standard and Pro. After a call, follow-up goes out so the lead does not go cold while you are on a job. You are responsible for making sure those texts or emails follow US and Canadian anti-spam and telemarketing rules, including TCPA, CAN-SPAM, and CASL.

Yes, as an optional add-on. It connects to your own payment account — for example your own Stripe account — with a restricted key that can create payment requests only. It cannot see your funds, balance, or account settings. We never store full card or bank numbers.

We work to keep the service reliable but do not currently guarantee a specific uptime percentage or a formal SLA. The service depends in part on third-party voice AI, telephony, email, and payment providers. We make a reasonable effort to tell you about planned maintenance when we can.

Call recordings and transcripts are kept for 12 months from the call, unless you ask us to delete or export sooner. Account information stays while the account is active.
